Roger K. Meeker

Roger Keith Meeker, 75, born June 21, 1948, in Hutsonville, Illinois, died November 15, 2023, in Galesburg, Illinois.
Roger was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the US Army from 1966 to 1969, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, in the barracks his father-in-law had built. He carried this acquired discipline and commitment into his professional life where he owned and operated Blackhawk Propane and operated a five-county wide distribution of Charles Chips.
A quiet man with a zest for life, Roger had diverse interests ranging from gardening to college sports, history, current events, and NASCAR.
Roger was the beloved husband of Linda Gale Lindley Meeker; loving father to Jill Shaw of Galesburg and the late Lori (Jammie) Wilson; cherished brother to Charles Meeker and the late Gayle Meeker. His legacy extends to his grandchildren - Sydney (Zach) Puralewski, Chase Wilson, Alivia Wilson, Kyle Shaw, Katie Shaw, and his great-grandson, Max.
Roger's journey on earth may be over, but his memory will thrive in the hearts of those who loved him. His was a life lived well, and one that has undoubtedly left a lasting, positive imprint.
Cremation has been accorded. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to H.A.R.T. (Hoopeston Animal Rescue Team).
