Roger Dale Palmer, 77, of Lynn Haven, Florida went peacefully to the Lord on January 07, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born in
Panama City, Florida, son of Elsie Washington and Jewell Palmer.
He joined the USMC in 1966 and proudly served his country for 10 years. He was a recipient of two purple hearts and numerous other awards. During his time of service, he had the special privilege of being one of the 4 honor guards to guard the president. He married the love of his life, Donna Lynn Gorman in 1998. They were blessed with 27 years of marriage and were crazy about each other right up to the end. She was the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jewell Palmer, mother, Elsie Washington, sister, Thelma Courtney, brothers, Dewey Palmer, Ronald Palmer, Edward Palmer, Richard Palmer, and Anthony Palmer. Mother-in-law, Louise Gorman and sister-in-law, Dinna Marie Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Lynn Palmer, sisters, Paula Clements (Lee Roy), Patti Levens (Donnie), Polly Preis (Bryan), Peggy Causby (Lee), and Pamela Bladow (Tim). Sister-in-law, Verida Bray (Steve) and Brother-in-law, Earl Gorman. Special Nieces, Adrianne Fuqua (Jonathan) and Amy Wojcik (Bill). Special Nephew, Christopher Levens (Jessica) along with other, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also left are his beloved cats, Snowball and Booger.
The family will receive friends for visitation between 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in
Panama City, Florida.
Graveside Service to follow at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in
Panama City, Florida with Chaplain Sun Kim officiating.
Pall Bearers will be Tim Bladow, Christopher Levens, Jonathan Fuqua, Matt Bladow, and Donnie Levens.
