Martha Lynn Palmer Moore passed away peacefully at her home in
Panama City, FL on March 15, 2026.
Lynn was born on September 11, 1937, in
Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, to the late Harry L. Palmer and the late Martha Wigton Palmer. She had one younger brother, the late John Wayne Palmer. Lynn also had a very special cousin and his wife, the late Rev. Robert Snyder and the late Emma Snyder, who helped raise her.
Lynn graduated from Houtzdale High School in Brisbin, Pennsylvania, in 1955. After high school, she attended nursing school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, graduating from Passavant Nursing School in 1957. She later attended Practical Bible College in Binghamton, New York, where she received a degree in Christian Education. Lynn used her education to teach Bible school and summer church camps while also working in the field of nursing.
Lynn worked for many years at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was there that she met and fell in love with her husband of 58 years, Robert Moore. They were married on October 21, 1967.
Together they had one daughter, Laura Elizabeth Moore Sylvester (Lance), and two grandchildren, Jared (Madeline) and Abigail Sylvester.
Lynn spent many years traveling, camping, fishing, and hiking. She enjoyed riding her snow machine, showing antique cars, and boating. She also volunteered for many years with her church women's group, served as a Girl Scout leader, and worked as a school nurse.
After taking time away from nursing to raise her daughter, Lynn returned to the profession and worked many years in home health care, a field of nursing she was extremely passionate about.
Lynn was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Panama City.
