Roger Rehborg, age 71 of Ocheyedan, IA, died Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Avas House in Sioux Falls, SD.
Public visitation will be Friday, December 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, with the family present at Jurrens Funeral Home of Ocheyedan, IA.
A funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 6th at the Ocheyedan Methodist Church in Ocheyedan, IA, with Pastor Steve Swenson officiating. Burial will follow at the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery.
Roger Floyd Rehborg was born March 16, 1954, in Worthington, MN, the son of Albert and Viola (Vosberg) Rehborg. Roger was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, was raised near Ocheyedan, IA and graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1972. He briefly served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. He continued his education at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, IA, where he studied to be an electrician.
Roger married Holly (Arends) on May 24, 1986, at Zion Lutheran Church near Ocheyedan. Two children were born to this union, Jerrod and McKenzie. Throughout Roger’s working years, he worked as an electrician and meat cutter.
He was a member of Iowa Bowhunters Association, Iowa Traditional Bowhunters Society, Cherokee Ridge Runners, and the Nebraska Traditional Archers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, handcrafting bows, arrows and predator calls, gunsmithing, gardening and canning. He also was very creative inventing many different things. Some special memories and moments are the birth of his children and grandchildren, Jerrod’s College graduation, multiple 3D archery championship awards, attending a Bob Seger concert birthday trip with Jerrod and McKenzie, and primitive camping with McKenzie for many years.
He is survived by his two children, Jerrod (fiancée Julia Katzenmeier) Rehborg and McKenzie Rosales; seven grandchildren, Cobie (Devyn) Anderson, Rogue Rehborg, Ryker Rehborg, Xander Rosales, and bonus grandchildren, Natzali Morales, Eragen Katzenmeier and Saharah Bangert; one great-grandchild, Martina Anderson; two brothers, Calvin (Ruth) Rehborg and Norman Rehborg; two sisters, Lois (Tom) Bremer and Doris Halls; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Viola Rehborg; a granddaughter, Shabrielle Lynnea; a brother, Herbert Rehborg; sister, Francis (Jack) Hurd; sister-in-law, Carol Rehborg; and a brother-in-law, Freddie Halls.
