Ritter, Roger Thomas - Age 77, of Fenton, passed away October 18, 2024. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 E. Washington St., Howell. Fr. Gary Koenigsknecht celebrant. Burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Wednesday. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to a Veterans Organization of One's Choice. Roger was born September 30, 1947, in Traverse City, Michigan, the son of Willard and Isabelle (Knieper) Ritter. Roger was a veteran of the US Marine Corp serving in Vietnam, being awarded the Purple Heart. He became a Farrier and spent his life raising, training and shoeing Arabian horses. Surviving are: sisters, Joan (Wilfred) Korson, Louise Korson, Beverly Rooney; brothers, Kenneth (Betty) Ritter, Dennis (Audrey) Ritter; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhoda Ritter on March 3, 2020; brother, D'Arcy Ritter; infant sister, Barbara Jean Ritter; brothers-in-law, Richard Rooney and Richard Korson; and nephew, Mark Korson.
