Roger Dale Rutter, of Annapolis, MO, entered into heaven on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the age of 71 years, 8 months, and 2 days. He was born September 6, 1953, in Annapolis, MO, a son of the late Kenneth and Opal (Griggs) Rutter.
On August 5, 1972, Roger was united in marriage to Connie (Swan) Rutter who survives. Also surviving are Roger is their daughter, Lisa Cangelosi and husband Vince of Piedmont, MO, one granddaughter, Isabella Cangelosi, two brothers, Jack Rutter and wife Edith of Annapolis, MO, and Paul Rutter and wife Effie of Arcadia, MO, one sister, Virginia (Jenny) Merla Rapps of Swansea, IL, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Roger is preceded in rest by his parents, a grandson, Riley Gray, and five brothers, William "Bill" Rutter, James "Jim" Rutter, Cliffton "Cliff" Rutter, Allen "Al" Rutter, and Kenneth "Bud" Rutter.
For many years, Roger worked for an asphalt plant to help support his family. He also was the owner of several apartment buildings in Illinois, and worked in the log woods cutting timber. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Piedmont, MO, a member of the unofficial "Reynolds County Country Club", an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, he loved fishing and boating, loved wildlife and conservation, and found his peace with the Lord while in the woods. Roger was a kind and softspoken man who cared deeply for his family. He is now reunited with his grandson, Riley, his brothers and parents, and all his ancestors. Roger Dale Rutter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
A visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, beginning at 6:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm.
A private family celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Interment will follow the services in the Rutter Cemetery in Annapolis, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be made to your local animal shelter in Roger's honor.
