Paul Everett Rutter, of Arcadia, MO, entered into rest on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the age of 80 years, 8 months, and 11 days. He was born May 4, 1945, in Annapolis, MO, a son of the late Kenneth and Opal Mae (Griggs) Rutter.

On August 3, 1984, Paul was united in marriage to the love of his life Mae (Chitwood) Rutter. Together Paul and Mae raised two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Rutter who preceded him in rest in April of 2018, and Marlaina Pitts and husband Amon of Ironton, MO who survive. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Belinda Aidan Kincade and husband Brett of New Orleans, a sister Virginia "Jenny" Merla Rapps of Swansea, IL, a brother Jack Rutter and wife Edith of Annapolis, MO, a special daughter Alta Haverstick and husband Brandon, a special granddaughter Braylee Haverstick, and many more loving family members and friends.

Paul is also preceded in rest by six brothers Bud, Bill, Jim, Al, Cliff, and Roger Rutter.

For many years Paul worked for the City of Brentwood in the Street Department, working long hours to support his loving family. He always provided for his family and they never went without what they needed, especially his love and devotion. He was an honest man who believed in honest work, and would always help those who were in need. Paul served his country with honor and pride in the United States Army, and he was a member of the Hopewell masonic Lodge #239. He was also a Shriner, and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Paul Everett Rutter was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
