Roger Simons Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors - Midland Chapel on Jan. 9, 2026.
Roger Dale Simons was a hardworking and devoted family man whose life was defined by love, dedication, and quiet strength. A loving husband, father, and provider, Roger took great pride in caring for his family and ensuring they were always supported and knew they were deeply loved. Roger's life was guided by a quiet, deeply personal faith in God, one that shaped his values, grounded his devotion, and gently guided his family through a steady example and quiet accountability, most clearly seen by those who knew him best.
Roger was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering sense of responsibility. He believed in showing up and doing things right. Through his carpentry and artistry over a career of 53 years, Roger left a visible legacy across the city of Midland. The many businesses, churches, and homes that he crafted with his hands reflect the same patience and excellence that defined his life. His dedication was not just seen in his work, but in the countless ways he showed his love through his sacrifices and his steadfast presence. He was a man of his word and a man who was deeply devoted to those he loved.
Above all else, Roger cherished his wife and children. His love for them was the center of his life, and he found his greatest joy in spending time with them, helping them with building projects, playing cards, laughing and sharing meals together. A quiet man, those who knew him best knew him to be quick-witted, funny, constantly humming or whistling and always looking forward to when he could be back home, spending time with his wife and kids.
Roger will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the life he lived, the family he built, and the love he gave so freely.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Tonya (Smith) Simons, children, Brian (Shiela) Simons, Aaron (Aileen) Simons, Amanda Abajian, and Renee (Lee) Blanchard; grandchildren, Cody Simons, Alexis Simons, Mackenzie Simons, Bella Simons, Zeke Abajian, Titus Abajian, Asa Blanchard, Lillian Blanchard, Selah Blanchard, Elijah Blanchard and Ezra Blanchard; and siblings, Becky (Gordon) Davis, Arthur (Barbara) Simons, Michael (Bonnie) Simons, and David (Sheila) Simons. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lillian (Church) Simons, and his sisters, Susan Simons-Hulett and Lois Overly.
