Roger Dale Smith, of Carrollton, KY, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Carrollton, Kentucky. Born on June 26, 1937, in Carroll County, Roger led a life dedicated to his family and his vocation as a farmer, retiring from this profession after a lifetime of hard work and devotion to the land.
Roger was a member of the English Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his beloved three daughters, Sandy (Tic) Kindoll, Shannon (Mike) Sparks of Carrollton, KY., and Monica (Mark) Daniel of Turners Station, KY, a brother, Elmer Smith of Worthville, KY, a sister, Grace Banks of Madison, IN. His legacy continues through his four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one step grandchild,, all of whom will carry forward the values he instilled in them.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse D. Smith and Amanda Chatham Smith. He was also predeceased by his wife, Mary Lee Fox Smith, who was a significant part of his life and whom he cherished deeply. He is also preceded by his brothers, Howard, Wilbert, Orvan, Donald, and Edward Smith, as well as his sisters, Loetta Helm and Janie Smith.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckller-Riley Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the English Cemetery near Carrollton, KY.
Roger Dale Smith's life was a testament to the virtues of hard work, faith, and family. He nurtured the land and those he loved, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
