Roger A. Sorby

Roger A. Sorby, 84, a resident of Gages Lake, IL, passed away November 2, 2025, at his home.  He was born November 11, 1940 to Albert and Evelyn Sorby.  

Roger enjoyed fishing up in northern Wisconsin, was a White Sox and Bears fan, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  He enjoyed riding his lawn mower or golf cart up to the Cottage Tap where he would enjoy his Old Style saying "There's a pork chop in every bottle!".

Roger is survived by his children Keith Sorby, Kelly Sorby, and Tracy (Paul) Whitmer, his grandchildren Ryan (Tanya) Sorby, Holly Sorby, Derek Sorby, Britnee Whitmer, and Kyle (Sara) Whitmer, and his great grandchildren Hayley, Anthony, Joshua, Cayden, Chloe, and Ezekiel.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Joanie Sorby.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 7, 2025, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.  The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the funeral chapel at 11:00am.  Interment will follow the service at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL.  For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.
