Roger Sprague Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home - Frankton on Nov. 24, 2025.
Roger Warren Sprague, of Frankton, Indiana, passed away on November 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 28, 1953, in Bethesda, MD, to George and Mary (Etchison) Sprague, Roger lived a life defined by adventure, humor, loyalty, and love. He served his country courageously in the Marines during the Vietnam Conflict, demonstrating his adventurous and brave spirit. Known for his quick wit and funny stories, he had a knack for making people laugh, and his warm personality brought joy to those around him.

Roger was a loyal friend and a loving father and grandfather. He was employed at R&L Carriers for 17 years, providing security, a job he was passionate about until his retirement. Always a hands-on man, Roger enjoyed working on cars and being in the autobody shop. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and always looked forward to spending time outdoors. Roger was a former member of the Frankton Lions Club, the Frankton American Legion, the Boy Scouts (he was an Eagle Scout), and the Jaycees. But what mattered most to Roger was his family. He cherished time spent with his loved ones and held a special place in his heart for his children and grandchildren.

Roger is survived by his daughters, Alicia (Ryan) Peter and Kristina (Josh) Walls; his grandchildren, Jentry Walls, Jamisyn Walls, Charlotte Schilke, Jaxson Peter, and Noah Peter; his brother, Brian Sprague; and his sister, Deborah Paschal. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Sprague, and his daughter, Natalie Sprague.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, located at 305 East Sigler Street, Frankton, Indiana, 46044. The memorial service will follow at the same location at 2:00 pm. Military rites and burial of cremated remains will follow the memorial service at K of P I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton, IN.

In memory of Roger, we invite you to share your favorite stories, memories, and photos on his memorial page. His adventurous spirit, funny anecdotes, loyal friendship, and loving heart touched many lives, and we encourage you to celebrate his life by sharing your personal memories of how Roger touched your life.
