Larry Joe Sumner, 90 of Inverness, Florida, formerly of Frankton, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 24, 2025. He was born in Point Isabel, Indiana on January 30, 1935 to Joseph A. and Verna Ruth Sumner. He was a member of Frankton United Methodist Church, over 50 Year member and past Master of the Frankton Masonic Lodge #607 and former member of the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis and Shrine Club in Tampa, Florida. His favorite Bible verses are John 3:16 and Exodus 20:12. He married the Love of his life, Joyce Marie Sprague on June 6, 1954. In 1953, he graduated from Frankton High School. After 30 years, Larry retired from Fisher Body a division of General Motors in Marion, Indiana where he worked as a pattern maker. He was the owner of L&J Miniature Golf in Pendleton, Indiana, Sumner's Variety Store, and Larry's Foodland in Frankton, Indiana. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph A. and Verna Ruth Sumner, his son, Kevin Dennis Sumner and son -in-law Richard Pierce. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joyce Marie Sumner of Inverness, FL; daughters: Cynthia Ann Pierce of Chesterfield, Indiana and Teresa Jo Bell (Tom) of Andrews, Indiana; Kathleen Marie Kelly (Ronnie) of Alexandria, Indiana; son: Keith Allen Sumner (Karen) of Bushnell, Florida; brother: Stephen Dennis Sumner (Miriam) of Anderson, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.

a visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.. on Wednesday December 3, 2025 at the Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton, Indiana. Masonic services will be held at 2:00 p.m. conducted by the Quincy Lodge #230 of Elwood, Indiana. Followed by a Christian celebration of life with Pastor Bob Preuscz officiating. Interment will follow at the Knights of Pythias IOOF Cemetery in Frankton, Indiana. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Purcell Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home in Bushnell, Florida and Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton, Indiana.
