Roger St. Pierre Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Duncan Graves Funeral Home - Presque Isle on Feb. 6, 2026.
Roger St. Pierre 02-23-55 - 01-18-26

****

After a short stay at the House of Comfort, Roger St Pierre, 70, supported by its compassionate staff, surrounded by family and his dog Terra, passed away peacefully. Roger was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick to George and Jeannine (Poitras) St. Pierre.

Following his Van Buren High School graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was meritoriously promoted to Corporal during his service and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal, a distinction he carried with great pride. His service during the Vietnam era was a defining chapter of his life, one he carried with deep honor and reverence.

In 1976, he began his career with the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, where he worked faithfully until his retirement. Known for his strong work ethic and reliability, he valued dedication, responsibility, and providing for those he loved.

In 1980, he married the love of his life, Peggy (Powers) St. Pierre, and together they built a life side by side, raising two children, several dogs, and a few cats, until his passing. Roger loved singing along with Rock and Roll music, playing the air guitar and enjoyed afternoons in the sun with good company. Above all else, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandsons. Whether through shared moments, quiet conversations, or simply being present, his love for them was constant and unwavering. That love remains one of his most enduring legacies.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Jeannine (Poitras) St. Pierre and his sister, Margo St. Pierre.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Peggy (Powers) St. Pierre of Madawaska, Maine, his son, Marc St. Pierre and his wife, Kari of Windham, Maine; his daughter Samantha (St. Pierre) Morrissey and her husband Chris of Bristol, Vermont; his very good buddy, Allan Ouellette, whom Roger always regarded as a brother, and Allan's wife, Karie; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Jackson St. Pierre and Theodore (Theo) Morrissey.

He will be remembered for his service, his commitment to family, his openness of spirit to connect on a human level whatever the differences and the steady, humble way he lived his life. His memory will continue on through the lives he touched and the family who loved him deeply.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday, May 8, 2026, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska, with the family welcoming friends and relatives at the Church prior to the service. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at the Northern Light Home Care & Hospice and the Aroostook House of Comfort for their exceptional care and compassion provided to Roger. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to your local animal shelter.

I did not know Roger personally, but am nonetheless saddened by your loss, and offer my sincere condolences to all his family members and friends. The reading of his obituary tribute revealed to me that he was a friend of animals, and any friend of animals is a friend of mine. May fond memories comfort your hearts. If you would, please give a hug to Terra for me , in honor of Roger. Thanks.
