James E. Dyer Jr.

Presque Isle - James E. Dyer Jr., 81, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 12, 1944, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of James Dyer Sr. and Doris (Berce) Dyer.

Over his career, Jim served as a purchasing agent for potato services for 10 years, earned his real estate license and opened Dyer Real Estate and The Travel Store, and later worked with Big Bear Real Estate. He served his community on the Presque Isle City Council during the 1980s and as a member of the board of directors for the Central Aroostook Association.

A devoted father, Jim was a loving presence in the lives of his daughters, Michele and Kristen. In his "heyday" he was a familiar figure on the local golf course-where his friends gave him the nickname "The Legend"-and he treasured fishing trips to Canada with friends. Jim also loved the time he was able to spend at their family camp at Squa Pan Lake.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Doris Dyer, his brother Jeffrey Dyer and his nephew Phil Vance.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea, and daughters Michele and Kristen, his sisters: Judith Groves, Janice Jordan and husband William, and Jennifer Dyer, as well as his nephews: Ryan Gartley, Randy Gartley and Stephen Groves.

In accordance with Jim's wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Central Aroostook Association, 25 Lombard Street, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
