Roger shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife of 35 years, Laura J. Stillman. They were married in Madison, Wisconsin, where they lived and worked for 35 years. In 1988 they purchased their first Florida home in
Bonita Springs, FL. In 2015, they relocated to the Copperleaf Community in Estero and became Florida residents six years ago. A graduate of South Milwaukee High School, Roger pursued his passion for building and earned a bachelor's degree in construction Building Management from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. His career began in Milwaukee, where he contributed to the development of medical buildings. In 1985, Roger embarked on a second career with UBS/Paine Webber as a financial advisor and later as the Managing Director of the Madison office. He will be remembered by all who knew and worked with him for his calm and steady demeanor and his wide-ranging knowledge of many things.
He held a private pilot's license, which he obtained at a young age, and continued to enjoy flying for many years. He was an adventurous and passionate individual who found joy in his many pursuits. While he was an avid football and basketball fan, golf was his greatest sports passion. Over the years he held memberships at Black Hawk and Bishops Bay Country Clubs in Madison, as well West Bay Club in Estero and, since 2015, Copperleaf. He also had the good fortune to golf on many of the great courses in the U.S. and British Isles.
Until recently he served on the board in the Bishop's Bay community, where he was instrumental in transitioning the Club to the very successful level achieved today. He and Laura moved their summer home to Egg Harbor, Wisconsin over the last two years.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Laura. They enjoyed traveling and had several wonderful trips abroad, especially England where they had family ties. Many of their best memories are found in family and he will be missed greatly by his three children, Beth Charri (AJ) of Orlando, FL, Eric Stillman (Claire) of Bayview, WI, and Greg Stillman (Trinette) of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his seven cherished grandchildren, Avia Coquard, ( Nicholas) Brigitta Greip, (Huey), and Marna Stillman, Jewell, Beth and Mirabelle and Sam Charri, and three great-grandchildren, Elijah Coquard, Lawrence Greip, and Bernadette Greip.
