It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roger Joseph Sullivan announces his passing on January 25, 2025. Roger was born on March 1, 1944 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Mary and John N. Sullivan. He married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Mello on September 9, 1967 – they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in 2024.
A graduate of Durfee High School in Fall River, Roger was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Following his tenure in the Army, he continued serving his country – retiring from the National Security Agency after a 36-year career. Known for his good sense of humor, Roger was an avid wild-life lover and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, nature walks, and collecting World War II memorabilia.
In addition to his wife Elizabeth, Roger is survived by his daughter Catherine Sullivan-Causey (Todd), his son Sean Sullivan (Crystal), and his granddaughter Arden Causey.
A private memorial service will be held Thursday, February 13th at 11:30am at Hardesty Funeral Home in Gambrills, MD. In lieu of flowers, his family would be honored if you would consider a donation in Roger's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Bird Conservancy.
