Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Roger A. Turgeon, age 84, of
Pelham, New Hampshire.
He was the beloved husband for over 57 years to Judy B. (Lapointe) Turgeon, who survives him.
Roger leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to his family. A lifelong husband, father, brother, and grandfather, he loved his family more than anything and took immense pride in being their provider and protector.
Born and raised in
Dover, New Hampshire, October 19, 1941, Roger was the son of the late Beatrice (Houde) and Andre Turgeon. He was known for his extraordinary work ethic, resilience, and determination. Often described as "the man with more than nine lives," we were all incredibly fortunate to have had him for as long as we did. Roger faced life's challenges head-on, overcoming adversity with strength, grit, and an unshakable sense of responsibility.
Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966, an experience he often spoke of with gratitude and pride. He later graduated from DeVry University, building a strong foundation for a successful career in digital electronics.
He spent more than 25 years working at Microwave Associates/MACOM and TYCO, where he was respected for his reliability, technical skill, and dedication, before retiring after decades of hard work.
A man of deep faith and community, Roger was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick's Church in Pelham. He enjoyed working with his hands and found great satisfaction in building, fixing, and creating. He had a "WICKED" sweet tooth and could be caught with his hand in any cookie jar! Most of all, Roger loved the water. He loved fishing-often waking his daughters at 2:00 a.m. to take them out on the water to go deep-sea fishing-and cherished time spent at the family camp in Eliot, Maine. He especially loved clamming and often spoke fondly of his earlier years there.
Roger was a devoted and ever-present father and grandfather. He never missed a dance recital, although he may have slept through one or two, a piano concert, a softball game, a track meet, a pageant, or a school event. As the proud father of three daughters, he made sure that if they were going to cheer for a football team, they knew how to kick, punt, and pass as well as cheer. He came to every game and every competition-fiercely proud of every step they took. He continued this tradition as he cheered on his grandchildren at their many sporting events. He was known lovingly as Pepere to all of their friends.
Besides his wife, Judy is survived his daughters, Christine McManus and her husband Rich of Manchester, New Hampshire; Danielle Patten of Winterville, North Carolina; and Kathleen Albert and her husband Joshua Albert of
Pelham, New Hampshire. He was a loving grandfather to Ethan Patten, Jacob Albert, Aiden Patten, and Charlotte Albert, who brought him immense joy, pride, and happiness. His siblings, Janet Scruton of Naples, Florida, and Edmond Turgeon and his wife Paula of Bethel, Maine; and his many nieces and nephews.
Above all else, Roger will be remembered as the man who would give everything, he had to help anyone-for his unwavering devotion to his family, his strong hands, his hard-working spirit, and the example he set by living a life of purpose, determination, and love.
He will be missed beyond words.
