Roger T. Vargo Jr. of Port Huron Township died Thursday, June 26, 2025, surrounded by family at Blue Water Hospice Home in Marysville, MI.
Roger was born March 1, 1972, to Carol (Falk) and Roger T. Vargo Sr. in Port Huron. He married Melissa A. Matusik in a garden wedding on June 16, 2001.
His hobbies included four-wheeling at his family cabin in St. Helen, MI, snowmobiling, woodworking, and FIREWORKS! Roger was also a long time Detroit Red Wings season ticket holder and loved his Red Wings whether they were winning or losing.
Roger was a dedicated, hardworking, and genuine man. He would spend time talking with you whether you were a friend, family member, acquaintance, or a customer. He loved talking on his phone through all hours of the day and night. If there was a phone in heaven, Roger would be the first one to answer your call.
Roger had a few jobs over his lifetime from working at IGA in Richmond, MI, London Dairy, Earl Smith Distribution, and Dunn Paper to his final true calling - owning and running R & R Fireworks. He was a self-taught businessman who built an amazing legacy for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Melissa; sons Maverick (Shawna) Lamsa, Samuel Vargo, and Dylan Vargo; grandchildren Carter Bishop, Ivey Lamsa, and Willow Lamsa; parents Carol & Roger Vargo Sr.; brother Robert (Teresa) Vargo; special niece Addison Vargo; grandmother Betty Vargo and grandfather-in-law William Martindale; plus, many extended family members and close friends. Roger will be missed by feline family members Pyro Panther, Shadow, Jack Jack, and Boots.
Roger was predeceased by grandparents Jack Vargo, Albert & Louise Falk; grandmother-in-law Lillian Martindale, and parents-in-law Carrie & Stan Matusik.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
