Roger Vereeke Obituary
Roger was born May 15, 1952, in Paw Paw, Michigan. He married Patricia Anne Cook on December 5, 1997, and together they shared a life in Gaylord. He retired from Expo Freight. Outside of work, Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding Harleys and road trips, hiking and reloading ammunition, and baking and sharing his recipes.
Roger was known for his authenticity, strength, and gentleness. Above all, he loved his Lord and Savior and his family, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Vereeke; sister Kim Richard; brother Regi Vereeke; his children Larry and Marie Cook; Jim and Laurie Cook; Erin Scott; his nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his father and mother, Franklin Vereeke and Adhabelle Vereeke.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday February 20, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church, 232 S. Townline Road, Gaylord, Michigan 4975. Roger's family will receive family and guests beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Officiating the services will be Pastor Derek Hagland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan or the Munson Oncology Patient Needs.

Roger , had the chair next to mine, in dialysis. He was a quiet, compassionate man didn't talk much but when he did I listened. he said GOD didnt put us here, that it is what it is. we were talking one day and when he was ready to leave, he came over, shook my and gave me a very personable item, to help me understand. which it did. ill never forget it. thank you.
