Roger West Obituary
GLENMONT - Roger West, 88, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. He was born in East Jewett on December 3, 1935, to the late Henry and Evelyn Holdridge West. Raised in Glenmont, he was a 1954 graduate of Bethlehem Central High School. He then served three years of active duty in the Army and was honorably discharged following reserve duty in 1962. Roger worked for and retired from the N.Y.S. Dept. of Labor. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Judith Ostrander and her husband, George; his brother, Donald West and his wife, Patricia; and his nephews, George and Michael Ostrander.
Roger is survived by his brother, Lester (Sandy) West; nieces and nephews, Amy (Trish Palmiere) West, Lauren (Erik) Kvam, Cindy (Michael) Vatalaro, Jeffrey (Kathi) Ostrander, Jody (Lina) Ostrander, Wayne (Eileen) West, Jennifer (Charles) Hofmann, Patrick (Claudine) West, Catherine (Michael) Mogul, and Jean (Eric) Hoglund; his nephew Michael's wife Pam; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Roger has been privately cremated. Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 21, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. A private burial will take place at a later date. Condolences can be posted at danielkeenanfuneralhome.com
