Roger Wilkinson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Panama City on Dec. 12, 2025.
Roger A. Wilkinson, 78 years old, of Panama City FL went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2025.
Born on July 24, 1947, in Palatka, Florida, he was the beloved son of Nathaniel and Eloise Wilkinson. He proudly served in the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, retiring as CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT, a rank that reflected a lifetime of leadership, integrity, and devotion to duty. As a long time member of the local AmVets Post 2298, he held many positions; Post Commander, master chef, trusted friend and loving caregiver to all who needed him, to list a few. But the role he loved the most was as the best dance partner of his beautiful wife and all the ladies lucky enough to take a spin around the dance floor with him.
Above all, Roger was a family man. He played an active role in raising not only his children but also his grandchildren, and great grandbabies instilling in them the values he lived by-hard work, honesty, responsibility, love of family, and service to others.
Throughout his life, he was known for QUIET STRENGTH, STEADY GUIDANCE, HUMOR, PATIENCE, AND UNWAVERING CHARACTER. He believed that love was best shown through action, that words mattered most when backed by integrity, and that family was a lifelong mission.
His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the lessons he passed down, and the love he gave freely. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him..
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Wilkinson; father, Nathaniel Wilkinson; brother, Randall Wilkinson; nephew Kyle Wilkinson; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Wilkinson; grandson, Daniel Howard.
Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 56 beautiful years, Linda Wilkinson; his beloved daughters, Rebekah Wilkinson and Eleta Jolly; and his son, David Wilkinson. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Lauren Wilkinson, Amanda Wilkinson, Randall Jones, Hunter Ramsey, Jacob Jolly, Chase Howard, Bradley Hendricks, and Aspen and Joey Walker. His love continues through his precious great-grandchildren, Reef Jones, Sailor Jones, Stormi Howard, Kleo Howard, Kylie Crandall, Anniston Walker, and Clara and Sawyer Walker.
He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald Wilkinson, Leonard Wilkinson and wife Linda, David Wilkinson and wife Roberta, and John Wilkinson and wife Melissa. He held a deep affection for his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends whom he treasured dearly, and who loved him just as deeply in return.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home, with David Wilkinson officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their support during the visitation, beginning one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to AMVETS Post 2298, Panama City, Florida.
