Roger Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rupp Funeral Home - St. Joseph on Mar. 30, 2026.
Roger Dale Williams Sr., 70, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and unforgettable memories. Born on January 11, 1956 to George and Joyce Williams, Roger lived a life defined by devotion to his family, and the simple joys that made him happiest.
Roger shared a remarkable love story with his wife, Carol Williams. Together for 55 years, their journey began when they were just 13 years old-a testament to a lifelong bond built on friendship, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Carol was not only his wife, but his best friend and the love of his life.
He dedicated many years of service to the City of St. Joseph Street Department, where he worked diligently until 1993, when a disability led to his early retirement. Though his career was cut short, his work ethic and pride in providing for his family never wavered.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, George and Joyce Williams; his brother, Mark Williams; an infant son; and his best friend, Gary Harris.
He leaves behind a large and loving family, who will carry his memory forward: his beloved wife Carol; daughters, Candy Williams (Ernie Brown) and Amy Davidson (Chris); sons, Roger Williams Jr. (Dawn) and Jeremy Williams. He was a proud grandfather to Alexis Lowry, Brittany Lowry, Rob Lowry (Ashley), Drake Ford (Noa), Kaylea Ford, Alyssa Kempf (Chuckie), Tyler Williams (Shaylan), Ethan Williams (Kinsey), Alexander Holt (Kiki), Aubree Williams, Aleah Williams, and Adrianna Painter. His legacy continues through his cherished great-grandchildren: Zaiden, Braxton, Reagan, Baylor, Leonard, Addison, Benjamin, Tomas, Hudson, Kayson, and Brixton, along with his beloved grand-dog, Benny.
Roger is also survived by his siblings, Julie Williams, Kristy Milbourne, Cathy Cliton, LeaAnn Turner, and Lori Bussell, as well as many nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly.
Roger found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love for classic cars-especially his prized 1937 Chevy Coupe-ice-cold beer, sports, and country music. You could often find him in his garage or spending time at Gary's Barber Shop, surrounded by friends and sharing stories and laughter. But above all, Roger treasured time spent with his family. They were his greatest pride and his greatest joy.
Roger will be remembered for his warm heart, his easygoing spirit, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave so freely will live on in all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Rupp Funeral Home. A private family service and Interment will be held at a later date. Memorials in Roger's name are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
"A life well lived, a man well loved, and a legacy that will never fade."
