Roger Wise

Roger Wise, age 72, of Spruce Pine, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, with his family and friends by his side. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Lee and Mindie Hughes Wise. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Bruce Wise, and a sister, Bonnie Wise, all of Newland.

Roger loved to work in his garden, but time spent with his family was most important to him. He was a wonderful provider who loved his family, and was especially crazy over his grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his children: Beverly Wise (Andy) and Bobby Wise; grandchildren: Jayden (Hope), Dylan and Logan McClellan, and Tahayla Wise; three sisters: Betty Jean English, Kathy Bennett and Glenda Wise; nieces: Crystal Ray and Priscilla Wise; and special friends: Doug, Brianna, and the late Gail Hughes.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16th, at the Pittman Cemetery on Henson Creek. Rev. Marvin Sheets will officiate.
