Plug was preceded in death by wife, Nancy A. Coates; a sister, Vernelle Price; brothers, Allen, Johnnie, Sherman, and Charles.
He is survived by a daughter, Hannah and James Chapman; his son, Charles Coates; two grandchildren, Jac and Matthew Chapman; and his four-legged friends "Buddy" and "Shorty."
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1st at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA. 23181. Interment will follow in New Hope Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
