Port Barre- A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. for Rogers Ray Deville, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre. Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 6, 2024 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service, a Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Fr. Clint Trahan will officiate the service.
Rogers a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on August 2, 2024, at the Willis-Knighton Medical Center. He was born on July 30, 1946, in Opelousas. Rogers warm and caring personality touched the lives of all who knew him, his family whom he cherished deeply.
Rogers enjoyed hunting, fishing and mainly golfing, he also enjoyed watching football on TV.
In his professional life, Rogers dedicated himself to the Oil and Gas Industry as an Operator, his hard work and commitment throughout his career. Prior to his career in the industry, he served his country with honors in the U S Army.
Rogers will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Gloria Deville; sons Shannon Ray Deville (Stacey), Ronald James Bergeron Jr., and Alex Paul Deville; daughter Rachel Bergeron Hebert; brother Charles Wayne Deville; grandchildren Dustin Deville, Jude Hebert, Jacob Hebert, Madison Ryder, Megan Mayon, Robin Moore, Shelby Deville, Hailey Deville, Connor Deville and Alley Deville; along with 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Anna Mae Lalonde Deville, son Joseph Bergeron, sister Eula Mae Deville, and brother, Willie Deville.
Rogers Ray Deville's legacy of love and kindness will live on through the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
