Rogers Watford, a radiant soul born on September 10, 1957, in the vibrant streets of Brooklyn, New York, embarked on his eternal journey on January 15, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia. His life was a tapestry woven with kindness, community, and an unwavering love for the sacred connections he forged throughout his years.

Rogers was well known across his neighborhood, not just for his warm smile and friendly wave, but for the abundance of joy he brought to those around him. He was deeply involved with various churches, where he shared his passion for gospel music, singing in the choir and serving diligently on the usher board. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him and those he loved through both trials and triumphs. In times when he was unable to attend during ill health, it was the very essence of his community—his brothers and sisters in faith—who rallied to uplift him in love.

A culinary enthusiast, Rogers savored the simple pleasures of life, particularly enjoying meals filled with cherished flavors that nourished both body and spirit. He was ever generous, always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors alike, a true embodiment of selflessness that reflected his nurturing soul.

Having attended school in Brooklyn before making the bold move to Georgia, Rogers carried the spirit of his birthplace into his new home. His journey from the buzzing metropolis to the serene landscapes of Augusta was guided by his commitment to community and service. It was here that he left an indelible mark, becoming a beloved figure in the hearts of many.

Rogers is survived by his siblings Raymond and Tonette, along with his brother-in-law Anthony as well as eight nieces and nephews, great nieces and a host of relatives and friends. His legacy is intertwined with the memories of those who knew him—the stories they shared, the laughter and love that poured forth during gatherings, and the unbreakable bonds that will forever echo in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his cherished family members, including his father, Raymond Watford, his mother, Bertha Watford, his brother, Willie Van Watford, his sisters Geraldine and Beverly Wright, and his niece, Talitha (Patty Cake) Watford. Their memories remain entwined with Rogers' spirit, with each whisper of their names carrying forth his profound belief in the enduring power of love and connection.

In celebration of Rogers' life, a visitation will be held on January 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, followed by a Funeral Service on January 28, 2025, at 2:30 PM. He will then be laid to rest at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hephzibah, embarking on his final journey at 3:45 PM.

In reflecting on the life of Rogers Watford, a glance at the memories he crafted reminds us that love lives on, echoing through the generations. Each act of kindness, every ray of laughter shared, stands testament to a life beautifully lived. His spirit will forever reside in the heart of Augusta and beyond, a legacy resonating with compassion for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
