Roland S. Atkinson

Sewell, N.J. Roland S. Atkinson, of Sewell, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. He was 92. Born in Woodbury, Skeets lived his entire life in Washington Twp. He worked as a Head Groundskeeper for Gloucester Twp. Schools for more than 25 years before retiring in 1994. He also was a Volunteer for the Hurffville Fire Department as a young man. Skeets will be remembered as an easy going, quiet man with a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He enjoyed shooting pool, doing puzzles and trying his luck at the casinos. Most of all , Skeets enjoyed traveling with his wife, Carol. Together, they visited 49 of the 50 States in the Union. Skeets will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him Skeets is the beloved husband of the late Carol; devoted father of Roland (Kathleen) Atkinson, III and Carrie (Brian) Conboy; cherished grandfather of Jason, Sarah, Alicia, Rebecca & Nicholas; dear brother of Carol Morazzo & Wayne Atkinson. Skeets is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, December 30, 2021 after 9 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Washington Twp. where his Funeral Ceremony will follow at 10 AM. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Woodstown.
