ROLAND BISSON Obituary

Roland was not only a loyal dad to his three kids but also a great dad to dogs and a true friend to all living creatures, especially squirrels. Roland was an avid sailor, a thunderstorm watcher, and a benevolent protector of every toad that lived in his yard. The Valley was a major part of his life, where youthful shenanigans and bike rides gave way to long drives in the car to commune with the birds and critters.
Roland loved playing and watching sports. He didn't care which team won; he just wanted to see a good game. He grew up playing football and baseball with his friends and coached a women's softball team. He played hockey as a youth and delighted in raising three hockey-playing children.
Roland was lucky to have incredible lifelong friendships with his primary school buddies, the Garnett Guzzlers Association. They grew up and grew old together, engaging in joyful mischief in their youth and playing regular card games and visits to Gunselman's until the end of his life.
We will remember Roland for his infectious laugh, cheesy enchiladas, thai pies, woodworking skills, croquet prowess, and gentle spirit. He was a card shark, sailor, jokester, independent thinker, athlete, and jeopardy enthusiast. Most of all, he was a great son, dad, brother, and friend.
MEMORIAL SERVICE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2025 AT 1 P.M. AT THE BERRY-McGREEVEY-MARTENS FUNERAL HOME, 26691 DETROIT RD. WESTLAKE, OH 44145. Interment private. Memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. FRIENDS RECEIVED AT THE FUNERAL HOME STARTING AT 12 NOON SATURDAY.
