Christopher Paul Wille age 71, beloved husband of Susan Wille (nee Valentine); loving father of Paul Wille (Erin Kollar), Kristin Valentine, and the late Marissa Heckel; grandfather of Noah, Quinn, and Milo Wille, and Taylor Heckel; brother of Debra Thiel and Marianne Carlson; uncle to Michelle, Brian, Jonathan, Heather, and Laura.

Chris was born on September 8th, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Thomas and Virginia Wille. After spending most of his early childhood moving around the world due to his father's service in the US Air Force, Chris spent his adolescence in Colorado Springs, CO, where he graduated from Mitchell High School in 1972. After a brief period working odd jobs as a Teamster, Chris completed his degree in English and Journalism at Colorado State University in 1978. Chris spent the entirety of his professional career as a newspaper journalist, working as an editor in features, travel, editorial, and business at the Colorado Sun (Colorado Springs, CO), Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Spokesman Review (Spokane, WA), Bradenton Herald, and Sarasota Herald-Tribune. In his time as an editorial page editor, Chris also had the privilege of moderating political candidate debates on live television in the Tampa Bay area. Following his career, Chris and Susan chose to spend retirement in the Cleveland area to be near family.

Chris' pastimes included golf, travel, woodworking, and playing card games (loudly!) with his family. He loved football and passionately followed the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He deeply cared about his communities, helping serve in Bradenton as President of the Manatee Tiger Bay Club.

More than anything, Chris loved people-engaging, learning, and writing about them-and he was loved back. He will be missed.

A memorial and interment are yet to be planned by the family.

Memorials to Tails from the City.
