Raymond Francis Wille, 98, formally from Rockford, Illinois, passed away November 17, 2025
in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Raymond is survived by his children Bonita Richardson (William
Simmons), Edgewater, Florida, Kathleen Kundo, Cherry Valley, Illinois, Steven Wille, New Smyrna
Beach, Florida and Michael Wille, Roswell, Georgia; sisters, Jeanne Mcqueen, New Smyrna
Beach, Florida and Mary Church, Lakevilla, Illinois.
He was predeceased by his wife, Clara May McQueen Wille in January 2025, his son, Harry
Wayne McQueen, son-in-law, Gerald Kundo and grandson, Brendon Kundo. Also, predeceased
by his sisters Ramona Bauman, Minnie Brady and Bonnie Miner.
Raymond was born in Harvard, Illinois on October 20, 1927, to Francis Wille and Bessie
Carbery Wille. He served his country during World War II in the US Merchant Marines/Coast
Guard. He was on several ships with ports in Virginia, New York, Florida, Alabama, and Texas.
After serving his country, he came home and married Clara May McQueen on Thanksgiving Day,
November 27, 1947.They would have celebrated 78 years together this year. They had five
children: Bonita, Kathleen, Steven, Michael and Harry Wayne McQueen. He had 11
grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Raymond worked as a contractor and could fix or repair anything. He belonged to Local 249
International Union of Painters and Allied Trades in Rockford, Illinois where he was a longtime
resident and owned Ray Wille Painting Company. He flipped houses long before there were
shows on television about house flips. He also was a lifetime member of the Harvard Moose
Lodge, Elks, and the American Legion. He was a member of Beachside Baptist Church in New
Smyrna Beach, Florida where he painted the whole church one year. Raymond enjoyed boating
and fishing in Wisconsin and Florida with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM, at Beachside
Baptist Church with Reverend Walter Allen followed by Interment in Canaveral National
Cemetery. Visitation will be immediately preceding the Celebration of Life. A luncheon will
follow at 1:30 PM.
The family would like to thank Beachside Baptist Church and Reverend Khalil Ayoub and
Reverend Walter Allen. Flowers may be sent to Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1 Causeway N, New Smyrna Beach, FL
