Date of Death: September 12, 2025
Date of Birth: February 23, 1952
Roland Joseph Desrosiers, 73, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after a short illness.
Born and raised in Lewiston, Roland attended local Catholic schools before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. After his service, he worked for many years in the shoe manufacturing industry, employed at numerous factories throughout the area.
Roland was a family man at heart. He spent much of his life visiting and helping his siblings, often
providing rides to medical appointments or simply offering companionship during times of need. He
also had a constant companion in his beloved dog, Holly, a Coton De Tulear he affectionately called his
"brat." He spoiled her dearly, bringing her along for walks and visits, and his eyes would light up
whenever he spoke of her.
A lifelong hockey fan, Roland attended countless games and especially loved cheering on the Boston
Bruins. He also enjoyed food and cooking, known among his friends and family for making a fiery chili.
In retirement, Roland cherished the friendships he built, spending many happy hours watching hockey
and movies and playing cards.
Roland was the son of Julien A. Desrosiers and Antoinette (Dubois) Desrosiers. He was predeceased
by his siblings Teresa Frees, Rita Koss, Claire Plouff, Gerard Desrosiers, Julien Desrosiers, and Lucien
Desrosiers Sr. He is survived by his siblings Roger Desrosiers, Maurice Desrosiers, Daniel Desrosiers,
Donald Desrosiers, Lucille Violette, and Doris Foley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended
family members.
Roland will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, sense of humor, and the deep love he carried for
his family, friends, and Holly.
A graveside service will be held at Keene's Mill Cemetery on October 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The
cemetery is located at the corner of Route 117 and Fish Street in Turner, Maine.
