Roland Grenouillou Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Twiford Funeral Home - Outer Banks - Manteo on Jan. 3, 2026.
Psalm 146:1-2, "Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live."
Rev. Roland Leon Grenouillou, Jr., a resident of Buxton, peacefully passed away and went to be with Christ in Heaven on Sunday, December 28th, 2025, at his home. He was 74 years old.
Born on August 16th, 1951, in West Palm Beach, Florida, he was the son of the late Roland Leon Grenouillou Sr. and Margaret Eleanor Strine Grenouillou.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mildred McManus Grenouillou, daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Kate and Daniel Pullen, and three grandchildren, Jackson, Makenzey, and Cedar. He was preceded in death by his son, Roland Grenouillou III, all whom he loved with all his heart.
Roland was a beloved brother to his three sisters, Suzanne, Constance (husband, Terry), and Yolande (husband, Bill), and cherished uncle to his nieces Cheryl (husband, Chinonso), Alicia, Crystal (partner, William), Amy (husband, Curtiss), and great-nieces Alara and Aveya.
During his final days, he was comforted by his dog, Ellie, and the family bird, Odie, and also enjoyed visits from his canine friend, Trigger.
A dedicated minister and chaplain, Roland faithfully served the Lord throughout his life, including decades of volunteer mission work in Honduras. A graduate of UNC Charlotte and South Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, he was the pastor of Olive Branch Baptist Church in Blackridge, Virginia, and Spring Creek Baptist Church in Darlington Heights, Virginia.
Later in life he treasured the time spent with his family, his dogs, and his church community at Buxton United Methodist Church. He spent his final days at home, dedicated to reading scripture and praying for others. His life leaves a lasting legacy of service, love, devotion, and hope found in Jesus Christ.
A graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery in Charlotte, NC on Monday, January 5, 2025, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Roland to The Outer Banks SPCA and The Cape Hatteras United Methodist Men.
