Frankfort - Roman Adonis McGowan, Sr., age 31, passed away on August 18, 2023. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Clinton Street, on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time on Monday.
Roman accepted Christ at an early age and he wholeheartedly loved the Lord. He graduated with Honors from Franklin County High School. He then attended BCTC where he studied Automotive Technology. He loved collecting cars and working on them. Roman fiercely loved his family and friends and had a big heart. He was loved so deeply by so many and he will be sorely missed.
Roman was preceded in death by his grandfathers; Franklin D. McGowan Sr. and Russell E. West Sr.
He leaves behind to celebrate his life and home going a village of people who participated in raising him and caring for him – mother, Lyla (Bonus Dad, William) Pryor and father, Randy (Lisa) West; fiancé, Jermeka Downs; children, Roman McGowan Jr. and Nova McGowan; brothers, Zion Pryor and Martin Ingram; sisters, BriAnne Kelly-Pryor, Mandie West, and Jalynn Ingram; grandmothers, Dorothy McGowan and Anna Helena West; Aunt and Bonus Mom, Lynn McGowan-McNear, Uncle and Bonus Dad and Mom, Frank (Darla) McGowan Jr., Uncle and Bonus Dad, Jack McNear, Aunt, Felita (Derwin) George, Aunt, Faye (Roger) Hazelwood, Aunt, Lorraine (Terry) Dixon and Uncle Russell (Kim) West and Bonus mom Carmon Thompson-Davis; godmothers, Sheryl Smith-Bibby and Annyette Hocker and godfather, Scott Craig. He also leaves a host of family and friends to cherish his memories.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
