Romano Rocha Obituary

Romano F. Rocha, born on April 26, 1936, in the scenic town of Furnas, Portugal, was a courageous, supportive, and loving soul. Romano passed away on May 28, 2025. For 55 years, he resided in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Romano was a proud employee of Swank, Inc., a respected jewelry manufacturer, where he served as a mold cutter for 33 years before his retirement in 2001.

Romano is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Agostinha (Serradas) Rocha of Attleboro; his son, Jose Rocha and daughter-in-law, Glenda Rocha of Norton; his daughter, Maria Rocha-Hazard and son-in-law, Timothy Hazard of Attleboro. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas Hazard of Attleboro, Justin Hazard of Manville, RI; Joseph Rocha of Bronx, NY and Michael Rocha of Norton; and a great-grandfather to Hayden Hazard of Manville, RI. They will forever cherish memories of Romano's supportive nature and his unique ability to find joy in the simplest things. Romano was preceded in death by his parents, Domingos and Ana Rocha, who welcomed him into the world and raised him with love and kindness.

Romano was a man of many interests, including fishing, gardening, playing scratch tickets and handyman jobs. However, what he loved most was spending time with his family and friends. His love for being a handyman kept him busy, and his home was always filled with projects that testified to his skill and creativity.

The family of Romano Rocha would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received. They are appreciative of the care and services received from the medical staff of Sturdy Memorial Hospital, LifeCare of Attleboro and Hope Health Hospice & Palliative Care.

The services will be private under the care of Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. In lieu of flowers, planting of a tree in his memory.
