Ron Hanna Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory - Statesboro on Mar. 30, 2026.
Ronald Arthur Hanna, Sr., affectionately known as "Arty" to his family and in his younger years, and later known as "Ron," passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at his residence.

Born June 4, 1964, in Kingstree, South Carolina, he was the youngest of five children born to the late Lewis Hanna and Lucille Kennedy Hanna. At the age of two, his family moved to Cocoa, Florida, where he was raised.

While living in Florida, he worked at Martin Merrieta as a technician on the Patriot missile project. Around the mid-1990s, he made his home in Bulloch County, Georgia, where he worked as a long-haul truck driver before gearing back to a local truck driver.

When he wasn't on the road, he enjoyed spending time in his shop and watching TV with his wife. Ron was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Cindy Nitchman Hanna; his children, Ronnie Hanna (Julian), Nikki Winchester, and Ray Morgan; his siblings, Louie Hanna, Sr. and his wife, Sue, of Merritt Island, Florida, Dudley Hanna and Jan Wilson of Statesboro, Georgia, Lucy McCoy and her husband, Clyde, of Mount Plymouth, Florida, and Keith Hanna of Brooklet, Georgia; his nieces and nephews, Les Hanna (Kim), Julie Carter (Aaron), Jason Burke, Cody Hanna (Alex), Adam Hanna, Sarah Wilson, and Tyler Wilson; a great-niece and nephew Hanna Carter and Brodie Carter; and his beloved dog, Boogie.

Family and friends are invited to Ron and Cindy's home (7011 Black Creek Church Road, Brooklet Georgia) to attend a celebration of Ron's life, with military honors, on Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m..

Friends may sign the online register book at www.joineranderson.com.
