RON SCHWENDEMANN
On November 28, 2023, Ronald Milton Schwendemann went home to be with the Lord. Ron was born January 11, 1949 to Shirley and Milton Schwendemann of St. Charles, Missouri.
Ron grew up in St. Charles, where he still holds a record in the quarter mile. He loved playing most sports, as he was a member of the football team, track team, wrestling team and boxed golden gloves.
In 1968 He left Missouri to become a member of the United States Air Force. He was stationed in California, and was deployed to Okinawa, Japan and southern Korea. During his service he became an Aircraft Mechanic.
On January 22, 1972, Ron married the love of his life, Theresa (Hamilton) Schwendemann and together they enjoyed 53 years of marriage.
After his years of service, Ron took a position with Delta Airlines and he and Theresa moved back to Missouri to be close to family and start one of their own. They had three children, Jill, Cory and Ryan. Ron adored his children and was proud of them beyond measure. He left a legacy with them of unconditional love.
Ron was extremely creative and enjoyed coming up with business opportunities as well as his own inventions. For 10 years he owned and operated Petfood Express, a petfood delivery service. For retirement, Ron and Theresa enjoyed living at Lake of The Ozarks. Ron continued to feed his creative spirit there by spending time in his workshop doing wood projects. He made many dear friends there and spent many an evening listening to good music with them while enjoying a glass of whisky.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Shirley and his sister, Karen Peterson.
Ron leaves behind his wife, Theresa; his children, Jill Carrier (Jeff), Cory Schwendemann (Angela), and Ryan Schwendemann (Chelsey); brother-in-law, Pete Peterson, and grandchildren, Jack Carrier, Lillie Carrier, Maggie Carrier, Mira Schwendemann, Kaden Schwendemann, Payton Schwendemann, and River Schwendemann.
Ron's infectious laugh, generous spirit, and love of others will be greatly missed, but because he was a believer and loved Jesus, we know that we will see him again.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Military honors will be conferred following the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
