Ronald Louis Voda Jr., 69, of Hawkins, Texas, passed away peacefully in a local Tyler hospital on December 11, 2025.
Born in Wyandotte, Michigan, Ron was the oldest son of Ronald Voda Sr and Betty Rasch. Ron married Cheryl Faurot on July 12, 2001, and together they raised their family. Ron joined the Hawkins Police Department as a reserve officer and two weeks later was named as the new Police Chief. Ron was also a faithful member of Summit Heights Fellowship.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl Voda, son Brian Walker and spouse Wyndell, daughters, April Scarbrough and husband Brian, Michelle Gurley, and husband Dustin, and Ashlee Voda, sisters Shelby McAllum and husband Ricky, Jennifer Corrigan and husband Jim, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Betty Voda and brother Craig Voda.
Ron will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his community, his faithful service, his love for family, and the honor with which he lived his life.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Ron's funeral service will be held 12:00PM, December 16, 2025, in the Chapel of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins officiated by Bro Edward Crouch and Ashlee Voda, and burial will follow in the Hawkins City Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Dalton Scarbrough, Payton Scarbrough, Travis Faurot, Josh Hollis, Leelan Tyra, Jack Parker, and Doyle Knight.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Rons honor to the Texas Municipal Police Association Fallen Officer Fund. This fund will assist in the care of the families of fallen police men and women across Texas. You may donate locally to CNB of Texas under the account setup in Ron Voda's honor.
