Ronald Gene Weaver, son of the late Rev. Verlin and Mabus (Garner) Weaver, was born March 5, 1946, in Lebanon, Missouri, and departed this life February 25, 2024, at Jefferson Health Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  He was 77 years, 11 months, and 20 days of age.

Ron grew up in the Hartville area, and attended his first eight years of school at Coon Creek Country School.  He was saved and baptized at an early age at Geen Valley Baptist Church.  He graduated from Hartville High School with the class of 1963.  Following high school, Ron was drafted into the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War.  He completed his training at Fort Lewis, Washington, and was then deployed to Vietnam.  When he returned home, he was united in marriage to Saundra Wood on Friday, October 13, 1967.  They were married in his parent’s living room with Ron’s father officiating the wedding.   One son was born to this union, Stephen Weaver.

The couple lived in Springfield, Missouri, for a year, while Sandy completed her education, and then they moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where they have lived ever since.  Ron drove a Redi-Mix concrete truck for 20 years, and then he transitioned to driving heavy haulers on the jobsites of major construction projects.   He then retired in 2005.

Ron and Sandy enjoyed traveling with their camper, and they have been blessed to have visited many places out west throughout the years.  Ron loved his dogs, and he was an excellent dog trainer.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing every chance he would get.  Ron looked forward to the Vietnam Veterans Reunion, and enjoyed getting together with his comrades from the Army as often as they could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Verlin and Mabus Weaver.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Saundra Weaver of their home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, one son, Stephen Weaver and his wife, Susana, of Castle Rock, Colorado, two grandchildren, Chloe Weaver of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Tristan Weaver of Oregon, one sister, Beverly Coberly and her husband, Doran, of Ava, Missouri, two nephews, Jared Coberly and his wife, Emily, of Columbia, Missouri, and Jeff Coberly and his wife, Eve, of Layton, Utah, one niece, Jena Coberly of Ava, Missouri, five great-nephews, Alijah, Wyatt, Jacob, Benjamin, and Christopher, and one great-niece, Savanna, and many other extended family and friends who will miss him.
