He was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Lorene Akins; wife Jewell Akins; son Danny Akins; brother Bill Holt Tate; and sister Sheila Finch.
Ronnie is survived by his children Craig (Marie) Akins, Shannon Akins, and Kevin Akins; sisters Margaret Roberts and Deanna Shadrick; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his fur baby Lucky.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Ewton Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. T.A. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sequatchie County memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until 2:00PM.
