Ronald Wayne Babbitt, 69, of Nevada, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 23, 2023, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa as a result of complicated illnesses.
Ron was born January 20, 1954, in Nevada, Iowa, the son of Oscar Wayne and Betty Lou (Vert) Babbitt. Ron graduated from Nevada High school in 1973, moved to California where he started an appliance repair business and continued his repair business in Colorado and in Iowa. He attended the First Christian Church in Nevada.
Ron enjoyed riding motorcycles and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. He especially loved Blues music and was a talented musician and an avid drummer.
Ron is survived by his loving partner, Patricia Carlson of Nevada; his sisters, Judy (Bob) Young of Torrance, California; Janet (James) Mayo of Nevada; Connie Babbitt of Des Moines, and his brother, Michael (Michelle) Babbitt of Sacramento, California, his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews in Iowa and California, and his beloved dog, Harley, and cat, Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents.
No services are planned. The family expresses their sincere thanks to family and friends for the friendship, kindness, and prayers shown to Ron.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Story County Animal Shelter. If giving a check, please make payable to "Friends of the Animals" and mailed to Story County Animal Shelter, 975 West Lincoln Highway, Nevada, Iowa, 50201.
