BERECZ, Ronald Anthony - age 70, of Byron, died Monday, January 28, 2019. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, February 4, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St. Linden. Interment will follow at Argentine Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday and 11 AM - 1 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Byron Masonic Lodge. Ronald was born April 2, 1948 in Flint the son of Albert T. and Terry (Roberts) Berecz. He married Debra Morse on September 3, 1966. Ronald was a self-employed truck driver for many years and enjoyed working on his father's farm in Harrison, MI. Ronald was very active in the Byron community. He was a former Fire Chief of Burns Township Fire Department and was currently a Trustee on the Village of Byron Board of Trustees. Ronald was also an active supporter of Byron Community School sports and band and Northwood University Track and Field. Surviving are: wife, Debra of Byron; son, Tony (Kim) Berecz; daughter, Jody (Rich) Reed, all of Byron; four grandchildren, Garrick and Hunter Berecz and Conner and Rachel Reed; five siblings, Sharon (Doil) Smith, Deborah Brannon, Barbara Newcombe, Karen Morales and Richard Berecz; extended family of Rose Soyring in Harrison, MI. He was preceded in death by: father, Albert Berecz; mother, Terry Swegles; and two brothers, Steve and Don Berecz. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
