Ronald Bettez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Peabody Funeral Home - Londonderry on Mar. 5, 2026.
Ronald Bettez, 84, of Londonderry, NH passed away peacefully, on March 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, in the home he built with his own hands.

Ron was a hardworking and devoted family man whose life was rooted in dedication, integrity, and love. He believed in showing up every day, putting in the work, and providing for the people he cherished most. His strength was steady, and his presence a constant source of comfort.

He proudly served as a Military Police officer in the United States Army Reserve, carrying that same sense of duty and responsibility into every aspect of his life. In his youth, Ron was also a proud Pinkerton Astro, a connection that remained a meaningful part of his story and local roots.

Ron dedicated more than 50 years of his life to his work before retiring from Jamco Excavators (formerly Midway Excavators). His commitment, reliability, and strong work ethic defined his career and earned him the respect of colleagues turned lifelong friends.

A true sports enthusiast, Ron's happiest moments were often found on the field, sidelines or in the stands. He rarely missed a game; whether playing, cheering for his children and grandchildren, or watching his favorite teams. He shared his love of sports generously, taking the kids fishing, bringing them to countless sporting events, and turning ordinary weekends into lifelong memories.

Ron gave back to his community in meaningful ways. He proudly served as a baseball coach and assistant football coach, mentoring his children and young athletes not only in the fundamentals of the game but in sportsmanship and perseverance. His dedication extended beyond the field, as he helped build the Londonderry Recreation baseball fields, leaving a lasting mark on the town he loved and the generations who will continue to play there.

One of Ron's proudest accomplishments was building his family home, complete with a pool and cabana that became the heart of countless summer gatherings. He maintained what many fondly called "the most pristine pool in town", a reflection of his work ethic and attention to detail. That home stood as a symbol of his devotion to family, a place where children grew, grandchildren played, and Sundays were filled with laughter and spirited conversations about the latest games.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Lorenzo and Florence (Simpson) Bettez, and his son-in-law, Douglas Michno.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Maureen (Gibbs) Bettez; his children, Keith Bettez, Jeffrey and his wife Tracie (Miele) Bettez, and Ronda Bettez; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride and joy of his life.

Though he will be profoundly missed, his lessons, his stories, the memories made on ballfields, fishing docks, beside his beloved pool, and yes, even his corny Dad jokes, will fondly live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Forever loved. Forever remembered.
