Ronald W. "Ron" Bierly

Ronald William Bierly passed away in his home on August 30, 2025. Ron was a long time resident of Defiance, OH. On December 21, 1970 he married the love of his life Diane (Beardsley) Bierly.

Through the years they welcomed four daughters, Shawn (Joe) Barrera, Defiance, OH; Heather (Kevin) Browns, Defiance, OH; Amber Collins, Defiance, OH; and Autumn Winkler, Sherwood, OH. They were blessed in life with a bonus daughter, Jessica (Bill) Barrera, of Pandora, OH.

Ron was a long time supervisor of Johns Manville, where he was lovingly known as Abe. After retirement he was a salesman and tech for Barton Lake RV, where many family gatherings were enjoyed by all. Through the years Ron and Diane and various family and friends enjoyed traveling to the Great West, with favorite destinations being Yellow Stone and beautiful Montana. Ron greatly enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, family get together's and watching his children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and experience life.

Ron never met a stranger. He was a man who was loved by many and considered a friend by all. Ron held a deep belief in God and greatly enjoyed setting up gospel groups for Barton Lake. He loved watching his sports and Fox News. Ron greatly enjoyed his country music, the original, as he would say, along with his old time Christian music. Ron was greatly loved by his family members and many, many more who knew him.

In December, Ron and Diane would have celebrated 55 years of marriage. Ron is also survived by his daughters, and his sisters, Robin (Perry) King, Perrysburg, OH, Karen (Gary) Chapman Perrysburg, OH, and Sherry (Wayne) Hoffman, Mt Gilead, SC.
He was preceded in death by his, Melvin and Betty (Buhler) Bierly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. Ron's life will be celebrated by all who knew him with many fond, loving and funny memories.

Ron was very thankful to all of his Oncology Doctors and nurses in Perrysbury.
