Cecily G. Bierly, 69, of Louisville, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2025.

She was born on September 22, 1955, in Louisville, one of three children to the late Dr. George Remy Bierly and Marguerita Polio Bierly. Cecily attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from Atherton High School before embarking on a remarkable 45-year career as a flight attendant with American Airlines. She brought professionalism, warmth, and poise to her daily life, and formed lasting friendships around the globe.

Cecily was a woman of deep faith and adventure. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner of both St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church and St. Agnes Catholic Church. She loved to travel, embraced the unknown, and never turned down a new experience. She was an animal lover, a car enthusiast, and a self-reliant, business-savvy woman who always found a way forward-resourceful, capable, and resilient.

She sacrificed endlessly for those around her and found her greatest pride in the accomplishments of her daughters. She had an unmatched bond with her sister, whom she considered her best friend. Her strength and quiet determination left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Remy Lamphere (Gil) and Zaynah Karem; her two beloved grandchildren, Sutton Lamphere and Gilbert "Hicks" Lamphere III; her brother, Gregory Remy Bierly, DC; her sister, Renee P. Edwards (Robert P. Edwards, DMD); her nephew, Bill Perkins; and her nieces, Angelena Edwards, MD, and K. Blake Edwards.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, 2119 Payne Street, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3–7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Healing Place or Friends of Metro Animal Services Louisville.
