Theodore T. Nicholson

Theodore Thomas Nicholson, 95, of Jamestown, KY, died Wednesday Oct. 2, 2025
He was born on August 16, 1930, at Ft. Ritner in Guthrie, Indiana, to the late Thomas D. Nicholson and Ruth McClintock Nicholson.
He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to numerous people throughout the world. He worked diligently for the Lord as a pastor and missionary for 65 years. Ted is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Barbara Cathern Nicholson.
He planted churches with the Home Mission Board, now the North American Mission Board, in Indiana, Iowa, and New York. During this time, he pioneered new work in both the Mid-West and New York State. After returning to Kentucky, he pastored multiple churches in the state and served as a friend and mentor to other pastors and ministers.
He had a passion for missions and loved equipping churches to share Christ both locally and globally. His priority was love of family second only to his love of God. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).
He is preceded in death by mother, Ruth McClintock Nicholson, and father, Thomas D. Nicholson
He is survived by his loving sister Janine Walton; son and daughter, John Nicholson of Wayne County and Rebekah Barnett of Louisville, KY; daughter in-law, Eleanor Nicholson, son-in-law, John Barnett; granddaughters, Rachel Barnett and Sarah Barnett; and multiple nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the funeral home. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 KY-80, Nancy, KY with the Rev. John D. Barnett.
