Judith Ann Ayotte, 85 of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Louisville with her beloved husband and all three daughters by her side.
She was born on March 5, 1940, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, one of two daughters to the late John Stoyko and Bertha Fitten Stoyko. Judy was a graduate of Rhode Island College where she received her bachelor's degree in education and subsequently worked as a 5th grade teacher. She married the love of her life, Robert C. "Bob" Ayotte and they recently celebrated 64 years together.
Judy was devoted to her family; everything she did in her life revolved around her daughters. When the children were little, she volunteered in their schools as a teacher's aide and was involved in all of their afterschool activities including serving as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. As they grew, the girls became more involved in sports. She often drove members of the teams to away games and she herself never missed a game.
Judy was also a loving and devoted wife and supported Bob in his business career. This included moving their household nine times in 21 years. In every new community Judy became involved in civic and church related activities such as decorating the church for special services, delivering Meals on Wheels, working as a docent at the Corning Museum of Glass, and involvement in the local garden and women's clubs.
After moving their family to Louisville, she volunteered and served on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Arts and Crafts Foundation. Judy was also an active member of the Bellarmine Women's Council and took on various leadership roles in their annual Showcase Houses. Judy was an avid tennis player and played on several teams at the Louisville Boat Club and Campus Tennis Center. She also enjoyed a good game of golf at the Valhalla Golf Club, the Louisville Country Club, and the Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Rhode Island.
Judy is survived by her husband, Bob; three daughters, Beth Ayotte (Lisa Lillig), Christine Armenante (Bruce) and Meg Burke (Michael); eight grandchildren, R.J. Ayotte and Elise Lillig; Clare Armenante and Mae Armenante (Kevin Gosda); Kaitlin Calibur (Austin), Abigail, Caroline and Jack Burke. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Walsh.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at St. Frances of Rome, 2119 Payne Street. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews.
Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 101 Bullitt Lane #208, Louisville, KY 40222.
