Nancy Angermeier Obituary

Nancy Heineman Angermeier, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 4, 2025, after facing cancer with extraordinary grace, strength, and courage for many years.
Born on Thanksgiving Day, Nancy grew up in Louisville's Bashford Manor neighborhood. She attended St. Raphael for grade school and graduated from Seneca High School, where she met her lifelong friend, Lynn. Nancy went on to study English at the University of Kentucky and later found her place in the emerging technology industry-building a career in medical software just as personal computers were beginning to reshape the world.
Nancy brought creativity, thoughtfulness, and heart to everything she did. While working full time, she still made birthdays and holidays magical for her daughter, Katie. She sewed costumes, baked treats, and spent summer afternoons at the neighborhood pool-always carving out time for joy, connection, and care.
She loved to travel, especially with her best friend, Lynn. Monte Carlo was her favorite destination, but her favorite place was often wherever she could share a laugh and a good story. At home, Nancy was known for her warmth, sharp wit, and deep affection for dogs. During her time in hospice care, visits from W.A.G.S. volunteer dogs brought her comfort and light.
Nancy was a wonderful aunt-a role she embraced with great love and intention. Her phone was full of saved messages and photos, and she never missed a chance to check in on nieces and nephews near and far. She had a special connection with her aunt Helen, whose kindness and care helped shape the kind of aunt Nancy aspired to be. That bond-and the unconditional love she received from her cousins in the Wolf family-meant the world to her and brought deep healing over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Angela Wolf Heineman and Fred von Heineman; her brother, Michael Heineman Sr.; her cherished aunt, Helen Wolf; beloved cousins, Maura Ellison and Beth Wolf; and former husbands Don Doelker, Jr. and Jim Angermeier.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Katie Angermeier; her sisters, Ellen Steiner (Rick Cassel), Mary Pat England (Al), and Anne Heineman; sister-in-law Kathy Heineman; brother-in-law David Weber (Susie); nephew and godson Andrew Weber (Molly); dear friends Lynn and Gino DeMarco, Kevin Schreck, Karen Rumpel, and Jill Engle; her next door neighbors of nearly 50 years, the Burket family; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home (3800 Bardstown Road, 40218), followed by a service at 2:00 PM.
