Curt John Angermeier died peacefully at his home on March 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a four year battle with cancer. Curt was born November 18, 1953, to Robert V. and Edna M. (Fischer) Angermeier.
He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Mater Dei High in 1971. He was a member of the golf team and the drama society. Graduating from Purdue in 1975, Curt furthered his education at Indiana University Maurer Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. Curt worked at Kitelinger and Gray then moved to Merrill Johnson. After ten years, he set up an independent practice sharing an office with David Robinson for many years.
Curt was known by all for his quick wit, selflessness, honesty, and loyalty as a son, brother, husband, father and friend. Money was never a primary goal in his life. He was always willing to help by donating his legal advice, his time, his talents, and any tool a friend might need. Along with the tool, Curt usually came to help complete the job.
Curt was a member of St. Benedict's Cathedral for most of his adult life. However, in 2020 he and his wife Nancy moved into his mother's home on his beloved Westside to assist her in her final years. They joined St. Boniface Parish. Throughout his adult life, Curt was involved in numerous organizations. Some included the St. Ben's Bingo Committee, St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, the Men's Club at St. Ben's, the Haiti Mission Club, and the Mater Dei/ Memorial Big Bingo to mention a few.
Curt is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edna Angermeier.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Mayer) Angermeier; his children, Sally (Mike) Primus, Polly (Cody) Duff, and Susanna Angermeier; step-children, Autumn (Rob) Hastings, Jeremy (Mari Amber) Jones, Sarah (Michael) Miller, and Cory Jones. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Madeline, Alice, and Amelia Primus, Robyn, Brandon, and Harley Hastings, and Ashlee, Chloe, Matthew, and Harper Jones. His sister, Cindy (Clint) Perkins; brothers, Robert (Margaret), Paul (Barb), and Mark (Elaine) Angermeier. He also leaves behind his close friend, Dennis Garner.
Curt lived every day of his life, celebrating the joys and successes and continuing forward in the hardships and trials. He was a true Catholic role model. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N S Wabash Ave., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Christopher Droste officiating. There will be a luncheon following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N S Wabash Ave., Evansville, IN 47712 or St. Vincent DePaul Society, 809 N. Lafayette Ave., Evansville, IN 47711.
