Ronald George Braukman, 71, a resident of the North Plains community passed away on December 28, 2022 at his home.
Ron enjoyed reminiscing of his childhood years. Memories of growing up on the 40 acre farm that his parents, Frank and Irene owned on Dairy Creek Road in Mountaindale. The people and the history he held close to his heart. He always wanted to share the many stories and tales so the past history in the area was not forgotten.
He graduated from Hillsboro High School with the Class of 1969.
Ron was known as a hard worker and that he was! Building his dream home on his small acreage and living the small farm life. Cutting, selling firewood, tending to the animals and keeping the house warm, before and after his day job at Tektronix, then returning to a plate of spaghetti out of a pot he made.
Ron was allured and fascinated with the Cowboy Way of Life! It was common to see him in one of his various cowboy hats, western shirt, Levi's and his kicking cowboy boots. Over the years, he collected and was given western memorabilia. He enjoyed spending time with his horses. It gave him pleasure to bond, ride and care for them. He also enjoyed going back in time watching cowboy movies and shows.
Ron dearly loved his children Jennifer and Daniel. He was proud of their accomplishments and stability in the years of growing up. After a long period of time, he married, as he would say, "The love of my life Susan."
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Brian, niece Alicia and nephew Kenny.
He is survived by his loving wife; Susan, children; Daniel Braukman of Yelm, Washington, Jennifer Van Cura of Vernonia, eight siblings; Terry and Susan Braukman of Hillsboro, Diane and Herman Vanderzanden of Roy, Ken and Bonnie Braukman of Prineville, Shirley and Hadley Gear of North Plains, Mark and Anne Marie Braukman of Yamhill, Joe Braukman of North Plains, Alane Rowley and companion Kurt Becker of Mollala, Bruce and Mary Braukman of Yamhill.
