Ronald Wayne Browe of Munising, MI, age 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep March 26, 2025, in Charlevoix, MI. Ron was born to Wilfred and Florence Browe September 21, 1942, in Charlevoix, Michigan.
One of 6 children he was the “tallest” of the bunch and always held that over their heads …literally, he said. The family moved to Detroit, MI where he attended St. Mary’s High School. After graduation he joined the Air Force from 1961 - 1965, where he served on active duty and was honorably discharged. Ron went on to attend Walsh College and graduated with a certificate of accounting degree and financial administration. He decided to live in the Marquette area and worked for the Anderson, Tackman and Steinhoff accounting firm. On a trip back from Charlevoix his car broke down in Munising where he met Margaretta Baij at the Dogpatch. Margaretta, with her daughter Karin, moved to the Marquette area with Ron and they were married on February 14, 1976. Shortly after, they moved back to the Munising area, where they lived 18 years at Lost Lake. Ron opened his own tax firm in 1981 and loved helping the people in Munising. He and Margaretta later on divorced, after which he lived on Lake Superior in Browns addition. He reunited with his daughter Ronda, who he loved and adored, and also three beautiful granddaughters to his life and later on another grandson. His grandchildren were his absolute pride.
Ron enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing and especially boating. He earned his merchant marine license and enjoyed taking his friends out on the lake, but especially his daughters and his grandchildren. Many hours were spent in Murrays Bay fishing - which was his favorite spot. He would always say the boat is available on any day that ends in “Y”. Another one of his biggest loves in life was the Michigan State Spartans. He rarely missed a game and wore his green and white with pride.
Ron was proceeded in death by his parents Wilfred and Florence; sisters, Marge, Phyllis, Karen, and Fran; and his brother, Barry, who was his best friend.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Ronda (Pat) Kerr and Karin (Justin Bowerman) Blomquist; treasured grandchildren, Colin, Jordan and Brandon, Amber, Andrea and Erika; great grandchildren Korbin and Autumn; and numerous nieces , nephews and cousins. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date this summer. Keep on Sailing - Ron Browe
